Franchua blog

Hi there,

I turned 29 today, although mentally I’m 42. I started this blog about 2.5 years back. It was and it still is meant as a place where I share my thoughts / experiences / philosophies of life / and honest opinions. I would like to come back to it years later and see how I’ve changed and developed personally.

I write a lot, I write often. I write down notes, poems, my feelings etc. Of course only what I choose to post, gets posted. In fact I even do silly things like I type messages (whether their good/ bad /ugly / love / hate messages) to people on their chat screen & simply erase it all instead of hitting the send button. I trick myself that way into believing that I’ve said what I had to. It helps, trust me.

I love all things classic, whether it’s listening to the ABBAs/ Elvis Presley/ Michael learns to Rock/Bryan Adams or slaying in a white formal shirt tucked into a black pencil skirt with unapologetic red lipstick and black stiletoes. I also love the idea of writing letters, love letters. I quite wish I was born in that generation honestly.

This blog got its name simply from my love for music.. I do not play any instrument, neither am I a great vocalist.. But I hum a thing or two sometimes. I enjoy singing and I am mighty impressed with people who play musical instruments. Music does touch my heart. More like touches and rips it apart, but yea.
Until recently I actually thought everyone of us always have a song going on subconsciously in our heads.. something we’re not even aware of and at any given point of time we will start humming it.. But when I googled it out, I was bummed to know that’s not the case. In fact there are haters of humming, so much so that in the urban dictionary, the Silent hummer actually exists, and not in a good way :/

Hmm, still want to know more about me? That’s a good sign.

I’m not much of a foodie, but who doesn’t love trying out good food? I’m a total sucker when it  comes to sweets though(read chocolates).
Being a typical Mumbai girl, I enjoy Bollywood, yes with all it’s jazz.
I sing O carol with “Underneath the blanket” after every line. Try it, it’s fun 😉
I love happy people but something I’ve recently discovered about myself is that I love making people happy even more. I’m not very good with small talk so if I’m in a conversation with someone you can be assured it’s not forced.

If you’re still reading, I’m glad. To know me better, I suggest you stay tuned to the blog. I hope you enjoy it as much as me. I’d love for you to share your thoughts, comments, or simply like like or share the posts if you do connect with it.

If there’s any query, request, maybe you just want to drop in a line, want to collaborate with me, feel free to contact me at thesilenthummer@gmail.com I’ll be mighty pleased.

See you around, have fun! Kisses!

Franchua D’Souza.

  5. Thanks for the “Like” it was part of a series on friends and friendship where I emailed out a list of questions to followers and compile the replies. It has been a pretty cool journey just wading through the replies. Thanks again for stopping by.

  6. Nice to meet you, Franchua. One of my favorite things about blogging is discovering commonalities with people from different backgrounds. Songs swim around my head too. I love music, though I don’t play an instrument, detest small talk, and truly believe chocolate should be a food group.
