This Taylor Swift song is rightly meant from my friend to Ebay India.
Somewhere around April this year, a friend of mine saw this pretty flowy-like dress on Ebay India. It was very similar to the one in the pic above and costed about Rs. 1299/- Being the online shopoholic that she is, it didn’t take too long to punch in her credit card details and tick the saved address for delivery. As I mentioned in my previous post, even though you know what’s packed in that courier packet, the excitement is always there. So obviously when her dress arrived, with that big smile on her face she opened it. And I’m not exaggerating when I say her face dropped. Yea, forget the smile, her face dropped!
The dress that was supposed to be flowy and attractive, looked like the tailor just grabbed some left over material and made whatever he could in 30 mins. It didn’t have any fit, the material condition looked shabby with extra thread dangling along the edges. The color differed from the picture on the website. In simple words, it was crap. Here, take a look.
Today with online shopping, returns and excahnge aren’t such a problem.Unfortunately it’s not so with Ebay India. The customer service representative asked her to courier the dress back, for which she would be refunded by Ebay India. After several calls back and forth, checking and re confirming, credit or cash discussions, my pal finally got a cheque. However, the cheque cannot be deposited as it has her ebay account name which is really a short name. They didn’t even bother asking on who’s name should the cheque be. Also, on letting them know about it, they refused to make any changes and said the matter is closed from their end. On asking for any higher authority’s contact details they gave some forever unreachable contact numbers. We’ve finally given up on Ebay India, but what’s worse is Ebay India has lost 2 of it’s customers. Such a shame.
The point of this post is:
1) To warn you against shopping from Ebay India
2) To save your time, money and energy.
If you wish to continue shopping from Ebay India, do so at your own risk.
Oh also, I’ve heard some of the most random and funniest lines while listening to my frustrated friend’s conversation with Ebay India representatives:
– Ebay gulps our cash like they’re really hungry
– I want to know the climax, not the trailer
– The cheque also hasn’t come to me yet! Doesn’t it have legs?
Yours Truly,
